Le Grand Mazarin, Maisons Pariente’s Parisian hotel, is launching an innovative initiative called “La Grande Manufacture”. This ambitious new project, designed to promote and showcase France’s emerging contemporary art scene, offers young artists the opportunity to exhibit their creations in the hotel’s window displays. This initiative is in line with Le Grand Mazarin’s ongoing commitment to the arts, having welcomed a variety of artists since its opening.
This new initiative reinforces the hotel’s positioning as the meeting point of luxury hospitality and contemporary artistic expression in the heart of Paris. The project reflects the importance of art and creativity at Le Grand Mazarin, which has already incorporated numerous works of art and artistic collaborations into its initial design.
Le Grand Mazarin, located in the historic Marais district of Paris, France, provides an ideal platform for contemporary artists to showcase their work in a unique and inspiring setting.
For the first edition of La Grande Manufacture, Le Grand Mazarin entrusted Tiffany Bouelle, a young Franco-Japanese painter committed to women’s liberation and rights, who was first discovered when she publicly presented her personal drawings. She has exhibited her work in prestigious venues including La Monnaie de Paris, Arts et Métiers in Paris and Gallery JIB in Tokyo. Her collaboration with renowned brands such as LVMH and her social projects, such as “Rencontres”, are testaments to her commitment to important causes such as gender equality and the fight against violence towards women.
Her art, inspired by cabinets of curiosities and burlesque settings, manifests itself in immersive installations made entirely of recycled paper.
A graduate of the École supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré in Paris, Tifanny Bouelle’s multidisciplinary approach, combining painting, drawing, performance and installation, contributes to the richness and depth of her artistic expression.
“Strange Neighborhood“, a triptych by Tiffany Bouelle, will be on display in the windows of the Le Grand Mazarin hotel until mid-October. Created exclusively for the hotel, the painting features three theatrical scenes from everyday life, imbued with a delicate touch of humor. This creation is a reflection on social interactions and neighborhood dynamics, highlighting the tensions and harmonies that are created in these shared spaces.
Le Grand Mazarin, opened in September 2023 and located in the heart of the Marais district, embodies the spirit of Paris with its unique blend of tradition and modernity. Designed by interior architect Martin Brudnizki, the hotel is a tribute to timeless elegance and artistic creativity.
Le Grand Mazarin’s commitment to the arts is also evident in its collaboration with contemporary artists and a French craft house. The hotel regularly hosts art exhibitions and events, providing a platform for emerging painters, designers and performers to showcase their work to an international audience.
In addition to the Tiffany Bouelle exhibition, Le Grand Mazarin hosts an array of other artistic projects.
Jacques Merle created a hand-painted fresco on the ceiling of the swimming pool at Le Grand Mazarin, evoking the myth of Narcissus. Inspired by tales and myths, the artist’s work blends poetry, nostalgia and dreamlike imagery.
Amélie Maison d’Art, consultant for the interior design of Le Grand Mazarin, chose to complement the hotel’s eclectic and flamboyant atmosphere with a selection of design creations blending genres and eras.
Inspired by the architectural motifs of the Marais district, Sophia Pega has adorned the winter garden at Le Grand Mazarin with her works, composed of 12 celestial windows inspired by tarot cards.
Le Grand Mazarin continues to collaborate to create bespoke works that enrich the guest experience. These artistic initiatives are an integral part of the hotel’s identity, positioning it as a place of life and creativity in the heart of Paris.
By opening its doors to emerging artists, Le Grand Mazarin not only decorates its walls, but actively participates in writing a new chapter in the artistic history of the Marais. This approach reinforces the hotel’s unique identity as a must-see destination for art lovers.
Artist Tiffany Bouelle’s “Strange Neighborhood” exhibition at Le Grand Mazarin is a perfect illustration of the first edition of “La Grande Manufacture”: promoting the emerging art scene and creating bridges between art and hospitality.
